Rotarians,Annets and Anns along with Forest officers planted trees at Karanala bird centuary near Panvel city. more than 50 trees plantation was done. Tree plantations offer numerous public health benefits, including: Improved Air Quality: Trees absorb pollutants such as carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. They also trap particulates on their leaves and bark, helping to clean the air. Reduced Urban Heat Island Effect: Trees provide shade and release water vapor through a process called transpiration, which helps to cool the air and reduce temperatures in urban areas. Mental Health Benefits: Green spaces and trees have been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Exposure to nature can improve mood, cognitive function, and overall well-being. Physical Health Benefits: Green spaces encourage physical activity, such as walking, jogging, and cycling, which can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.
